Abstract: | The LHC experiments are now probing Higgs interactions for the first time. These measurements may provide clues to the origin of the Higgs potential, which is believed to determine the masses of all fundamental particles, as well as the strength of the weak interaction. How do we interpret these measurements? We will describe a model-independent approach, bypassing Lagrangians and Feynman-diagram calculations. This lecture is meant to be accessible to everyone, including beginning graduate students. |
